Sandy Crist Named New Executive Director of MMA-MEP

JACKSON - The Mississippi Manufacturers Association (MMA) is pleased to announce Sandy Crist as the Executive Director of the MMA Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). Crist replaces James Williams, who served as Executive Director from 2019 to 2021.

The MEP is a private-public cost-share program that helps small and medium-sized manufacturers develop new products and customers, expand and diversify markets, adopt new technology, and enhance value within supply chains.

"I am excited to join the MMA-MEP team," said Crist. "I look forward to expanding resources and services to support our state’s manufacturing community to ensure high-quality American-made products can compete in the global marketplace."

Crist spent the last ten years with the Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) and was most recently the Assistant Executive Director for Workforce, Career-Technical, and Adult Education. Prior to that, she served as the State Director for Adult Education and High School Equivalency, and in that role was able to be a voice for adult education and emphasize the importance of its role in bridging the gap in Mississippi’s workforce needs.

"Sandy's experience in workforce development and higher education makes her a perfect fit as the leader of the state's MEP program," said MMA President & CEO John McKay. "We are excited to have her join our team and look forward to seeing her help foster an environment of growth and improvement within our state’s manufacturing community."

Crist began her secondary education at Hinds Community College before graduating from Mississippi College with a bachelor's in Education and a master's in Administration.
