JACKSON (Courtesy: Accelerate MS) - On Thursday, Accelerate Mississippi announced an effort to optimize statewide programmatic efforts, to improve coordination with community colleges across Mississippi and to seek creative solutions with workforce related issues.

For this endeavor, AccelerateMS is proud to announce the hire of Dr. Courtney Taylor to spearhead the drive to bring these opportunities to the forefront and better target meaningful outcomes. Dr. Taylor has served as the Vice-President of Workforce and Economic Development at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC), where she manages all workforce related efforts and serves as the director of the world class Communiversity, a state-of-the-art training facility in Columbus, Mississippi. Prior to her role at EMCC, Taylor served as a Regional Director for Workforce and Economic Development for the Alabama Community College System. She has served similar roles both at community colleges and four-year institutes of higher learning after a stint serving in a private sector training capacity.

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Courtney Taylor join the Accelerate Mississippi leadership," said Executive Director Ryan Miller.  "Courtney brings an unmatched enthusiasm for preparing students for successful careers and she has shown a knack for implementing successful programs and finding creative solutions to do just that."

AccelerateMS was created in 2020 by Mississippi leaders to be the central strategic and coordinating entity with respect to workforce development efforts.
