Toyota Mississippi Donates 28 Corollas to Workforce and Fire Safety Training Organizations

BLUE SPRINGS - Earlier this week, The Toyota Mississippi plant donated 28 Corolla sedans to community colleges and fire safety programs in North Mississippi.

"We're going to be able to take these vehicles, and our students can enhance their high school skills and we can grow our own and keep our kids in our community," Deana Patterson, the work-based learning coordinator at ICC, told the Daily Journal. "We're going to be able to collaborate with the automotive services and collision repair programs and also also our welding program."

The vehicles are used for training purposes, so they are not road-worthy. 

The 28 vehicles went to a number of recipients. They are listed below:

-East Mississippi Community College

-Itawamaba County Career & Technical Center

-Itawamba Community College

-Lee County Career & Technical Center

-Marion County Career & Technical Center

-Pontotoc City School District

-Birmingham Ridge Fire Department

-Greenwood Fire Department

-Lafayette County Fire Department

-New Albany Fire Department

-Ripley Volunteer Fire Department

-Tilden New Salem Volunteer Fire Department
